Using Learning Theory to Write Better Questions

New technologies make it easy to pose questions for students as formative assessments and learning activities. But how do we ensure that these questions measure what we intend and support meaningful student learning. In this session, learning theories related to question development will be discussed and participants will practice writing questions targeted to different levels of knowledge representation. Implications for learning and transfer will be discussed.
