From iPads to cellphones, from laptops to video games, technology is an integral part of our students’ lives. They are immersed in a technical world that has shaped their educational and literacy experiences both in and out of the classroom. For many teachers, technology is a fun addition to a lesson, but takes a backseat to learning objectives; this session will show teachers how to use technology to drive a lesson without losing focus on literacy learning. The promise of technology integrated instruction brings to life key supports of our most struggling students, students with special needs, as well as English Language Learners. So, in this session teachers experience literacy as the opening for accessing and using interactive technology while differentiating instruction and increasing student engagement.
