Canvas in The Classroom: The BEST way for implementation!
My goal with this class is to teach all teachers, no matter the content level how they can implement Canvas in their class. I will teach them what I am doing that is successful in class, as well as showing and telling how others are also using it. I will walk through how to post an assignment or a quiz on Canvas and how easy it is to really set up a class on Canvas. I will also focus on how SpeedGrader helps with the grading process and how it isn’t as hard as it may seem. My objective for this course is to ease the complication and worry of Canvas, show all teachers that it can be used on a wide range of curriculum levels, and for teachers of all grades. www.instructure.com

Blended Learning, Reform Based Math, and Beyond
As I tried to implement flipped instruction, I identified areas where flipped instruction conflicted with what I believe math instruction should be, inquiry in nature. This presentation shows how I came to a solution and implemented online math discussions in a fourth grade classroom. I found students participated in conversations that had deep mathematical thinking, and demonstrated understanding far better than traditional homework.

Blended Learning for STEM Through Coding and Game Design
Come and see how Blended Learning can take your classrooms into the 21st century by harnessing the power of Coding and Video Game Design. Presenters will show how teachers with no background in coding can use Computer Science in grades 4 – 12 as a way of guiding students to think logically and to develop problem-solving strategies. Before coding an educational game students are taught to identify a challenge, imagine a solution, experiment with it and refine it. Demonstrating the use of the Globaloria content will show how coding and video game design can be used to enhance all classes and subjects using a blended learning model. Presentation will include first hand experience by an educator who has both used, and trained many teachers in the use of coding and video game design as a classroom enhancement tool that increases engagement and gives students real world skills for the 21st century.
