Audit-grade EdTech Analytics: How Does Your School Measure Up?
Would you be shocked to learn that at one 1:1 school, administrators discovered 10% of students never used their school-issued laptops? The school sure was. They didn't even know about their critical usage gap until they started tracking their digital resources. What's even more shocking is the vast majority of schools have no system in place to track the usage of their edtech assets. You wouldn't drive a car without a speedometer - why would you spend millions on laptops and other edtech devices without a way to measure their effectiveness? Join the president and CEO of LabStats, Stephen Loosli, as he walks you through case studies of how analytics from EduTrends have helped district technology leaders create the most equitable and efficient edtech ecosystems they can.

Augmenting Reality in a 5th Grade Classroom
Augmented Reality? What's that? Sounds interesting? This is the technology that will allow your classroom to come ALIVE! All it takes is one iPad or iPod. Motivate students to make and record short videos that are triggered by images you select. Using the Aurasma app, the student's video will "overlay" and attach itself to the selected image as it plays. Breathe new life into tired writing assignments, word walls, and bulletin boards! During this session, we'll walk you through the steps to create your first "aura" and get you on your way to take this back to your classroom.

Utah Compose: Using the Tool to Improve Student Writing
Limited Capacity seats available

Attendees will learn how to use Utah Compose to best teach and improve writing. Utah Compose, as many teachers have learned, is merely a tool to help English/Language Arts teachers. However, if used correctly, Utah Compose can be a valuable tool to teach students where their writing most needs improving. This session will include generating reports using Utah Compose and working with actual essays from Utah Compose. The work done with them will involve teaching students how to read their own report as well as incorporating essay corrections pages to teach students how to improve their writing. Mini-lessons on those topics will also be available if time allows.
