Fads vs. Trends in Educational Technology
Is the latest initiative in your school system simply a fad, or is it really a trend that will have a lasting impact on teaching and technology? Often school officials don't recognize the difference, or recognize the limitations and challenges of adopting fads.

This session will discuss some of the trends/fads and offer an opportunity to hear perspectives on such issues as BYOD, MOOCs, "freemium" tools, adaptive learning, new classroom designs and other topics.
